67:1 - 2, Qur'an
Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things Competent - who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed -
[Whereby] every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned -
It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.
And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?
6:27 - 28, Qur'an
[For] if you could but see when they are made to stand before the Fire and will say, "Oh, would that we could be returned [to life on earth] and not deny the signs of our Lord and be among the believers." But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them. And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars.
33:72 - 73, Qur'an
[For] indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant. [It was] so that God may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the men and women who associate others with Him and that God may accept repentance from the believing men and believing women. And ever is God Forgiving and Merciful.
[So] fulfill the covenant of God when you have taken it, and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made God, over you, a Witness. Indeed, God knows what you do -
[So] indeed, those who exchange the covenant of God and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and God will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.
Descend from Paradise and Fulfill His Covenant
Do Not Exchange the Covenant for a Small Price
He Created Life to Test you
We Tested them with Bad that they would Return
We Sent Messengers so they will have No Argument
Satan Departed from the Command of his Lord
God has Subjected All His Creation to Man
Be Grateful to Me and do Not Deny Me
Be Not Like those who Forgot God
Our Lord, Return us, we are Now Certain
[Sirach 17:1 - 2], Torah
The Lord created man of the earth, and turned him into it again. He gave them few days, and a short time, and power also over the things therein.
[Sirach 17:7 - 8], Torah
Furthermore, He filled them with the knowledge of understanding, and showed them good and evil. He set His eye upon their hearts, that He might show them the greatness of His works.
[Sirach 17:12 - 14], Torah
He made an everlasting covenant with them, and showed them His judgements. Their eyes saw the majesty of His glory, and their ears heard His glorious voice. And He said to them, "Beware of all unrighteousness;" and He gave every man commandment concerning his neighbor.
20:123 - 124, Qur'an
[Then God] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter]. [But] whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."
20:125 - 126, Qur'an
He will say, "My Lord, why have You raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?" [God] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."
[2 Ezra 7:21 - 24], Torah
For God has given strait commandment to such who came, what they should do to live, even as they came, and what they should observe to avoid punishment. Nevertheless, they were not obedient to Him; but spoke against Him, and imagined vain things; and deceived themselves by their wicked deeds; and said of the Most High, that He is not; and did not know His ways; but they have despised His law, and denied His covenants; they have not been faithful in His statutes, and have not performed His works.
[But for] those who break the covenant of God after contracting it and sever that which God has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth - for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home -
[Whereby,] this is the Hellfire which you were promised -
19:71 - 72, Qur'an
And [thus] there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed. Then We will save those who feared God and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees.
50:31 - 32, Qur'an
And [then] Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far. [It will be said], "This is what you were promised - for every returner [to God] and keeper [of His covenant] -
Those who fulfill the covenant of God and do not break the contract -
For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested.
[So] remember the favor of God upon you and His covenant with which He bound you when you said, "We hear and we obey"; and fear God. Indeed, God is Knowing of that within the breasts.
Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but God has with Him the best return.
[So know that] this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the life, if only they knew.
[So] whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with God is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason?
23:55 - 56, Qur'an
[Or] do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive.
[For] whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. Then We have made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and banished.
[For] those are the ones who have bought the life of this world [in exchange] for the Hereafter, so the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be aided.
Matthew 16:26, Gospel
[So] what is a man profited, if he will gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Luke 4:6 - 7, Gospel
[For] the devil said, "All this power will I give you, and their glory, for that is delivered to me [by God]; and to whomever I will I give it. If you will therefore worship me, all will be yours."
11:15 - 16, Qur'an
[And so] whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments - We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived. Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.
[For] indeed, those who exchange the covenant of God and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and God will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.
79:37 - 39, Qur'an
[And thus,] as for he who transgressed and preferred the life of the world, then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.
But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer - it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by God].
[And so] whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter - We increase for him in his harvest. [But] whoever desires the harvest of this world - We give him thereof, but there is not for him in the Hereafter any share.
16:95 - 96, Qur'an
[So] do not exchange the covenant of God for a small price. Indeed, what is with God is best for you, if only you could know. Whatever you have will end, but what God has is lasting. And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do.
29:2 - 4, Qur'an
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those before them, and God will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge.
[Or] did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?
[No,] We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.
[Rather,] God created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.
[For He] created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed -
[And so] We will surely test you until We make evident those who strive among you [for the cause of God] and the patient, and We will test your affairs.
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient -
[Wisdom of Solomon 3:4 - 5], Torah
For although they are punished in the sight of men, yet their hope is full of immortality. And having been a little chastised, they will be greatly rewarded; for God tested them, and found them worthy for Himself.
[Shepherd of Hermas 24:4], Gospel
For as the gold is tested by the fire and is made useful, so you also [who dwell in it,] are being tested in yourselves. You then who abides and passes through the fire, will be purified by it. For as the old loses its dross. So you also will cast away all sorrow and tribulation, and will be purified.
91:9 - 10, Qur'an
[So by] the soul and He who proportioned it and inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, he has succeeded who purifies it, and he has failed who instills it [with corruption].
38:67 - 70, Qur'an
Say, "It is great news from which you turn away. I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam]. It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner."
[So remember] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" God said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
[For] it is He who has made you successors upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees [of rank] that He may try you through what He has given you.
76:2 - 3, Qur'an
Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.
89:15 - 16, Qur'an
And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me." But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."
30:36 - 37, Qur'an
And when We let the people taste mercy, they rejoice therein, but if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, immediately they despair. Do they not see that God extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.
[For] if God had extended [excessively] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends [it] down in an amount which He wills. Indeed He is, of His servants, Acquainted and Seeing.
[And so] God presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of God. So God made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.
[And thus] corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].
[And so] We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience].
[And so] We sent to no city a prophet [who was denied] except that We seized its people with poverty and hardship that they might humble themselves [to God].
[2 Ezra 16:20], Torah
But for all these things, they [would] not turn from their wickedness, nor always be mindful of the scourges.
7:95 - 96, Qur'an
Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers were [also] touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive. And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared God, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning.
And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient.
[So] indeed, God does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves.
23:74 - 77, Qur'an
[For] indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path. And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and they will continue thus] until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair.
[But] it is expected, [if you repent], that your Lord will have mercy upon you. But if you return [to sin], We will return [to punishment]. And We have made Hell, for the disbelievers, a prison-bed.
32:20 - 21, Qur'an
[So] as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny." [And thus] We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment [of Hell,] that perhaps they will repent.
27:83 - 85, Qur'an
[So warn of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a company of those who deny Our signs, and they will be [driven] in rows until, when they arrive [at the place of Judgement], He will say, "Did you deny My verses while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what [was it that] you were doing?" And the decree will befall them for the wrong they did, and they will not [be able to] speak.
[For on that Day,] We will resurrect from every nation a witness. Then it will not be permitted to the disbelievers [to apologize or make excuses], nor will they be asked to appease [God].
[For We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against God after the messengers. And ever is God Almighty and Most Wise.
[So] We did not send any messenger except speaking in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and God sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Almighty, the Most Wise.
[Thus this is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.
And thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an and have diversified therein the warnings that perhaps it would cause them remembrance or they will avoid [sin].
[So] indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.
13:19 - 20, Qur'an
Then is he who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like one who is blind? They will only be reminded who are people of understanding - those who fulfill the covenant of God and do not break the contract -
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.
[And so] who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord; then he turns away from them? Indeed We, from the criminals, will take retribution.
[But] if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, "Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses before we were humiliated and disgraced?"
But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers.
37:13 - 14, Qur'an
[For] when they are reminded, they remember not. And when they see a sign, they ridicule.
[But] remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.
Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you, and that you may fear God so you might receive mercy?
16:48 - 50, Qur'an
Have they not considered what things God has created? Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to God, while they are humble. And to God prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant. They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.
[So remember] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for [Satan]. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.
[God] said, "O [Satan], what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?"
He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
15:26 - 27, Qur'an
[So yes,] We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.
[But] I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
16:22 - 23, Qur'an
[For] your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant. Assuredly, God knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.
[For] those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.
[But] indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.
[So to them] it will be said, "Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant."
[So] O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of God upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but God purifies whom He wills, and God is Hearing and Knowing.
[But] indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds and humbled themselves to their Lord - those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide eternally therein.
Do you not see that God has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent?
[For] it is God who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the heaven and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.
16:12 - 13, Qur'an
And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. And [He has subjected] whatever He multiplied for you on the earth of varying colors. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who remember.
[For] indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed.
And [thus] He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favors of God, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful -
[For you disbelievers are] like those before you; they were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. They enjoyed their portion [of worldly enjoyment], and you have enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged. [It is] those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the Hereafter, and it is they who are the losers.
[2 Ezra 9:10 - 13], Torah
For such who, in their life, have received benefits, and have not known Me; and those who have loathed My law, while they had yet liberty, and, when as yet, place of repentance was open to them, did not understand, but despised it; the same must know it after death by pain. And therefore do not be curious how the ungodly will be punished, and when; but enquire how the righteous will be saved, whose the world is, and for whom the world is created.
[Shepherd of Hermas 47:2], Gospel
[Then do you not perceive how God] created the world for man's sake, and subjected all His creation to man, and gave all authority to him, that he should be master over all things under the heaven?
19:77 - 80, Qur'an
Then, have you seen he who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children [in the next life]?" Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken from the Most Merciful a promise? No! We will record what he says and extend for him from the punishment extensively. And We will inherit him [in] what he mentions, and he will come to Us alone.
74:11 - 16, Qur'an
[So] leave Me with the one I created alone and to whom I granted extensive wealth and children present [with him], and spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. Then he desires that I should add more. No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
And [so] the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."
[4 Maccabees 16:18], Torah
[So] remember that it is through God that you have had a share in the world and have enjoyed life -
[For] indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude.
Genesis 1:26, Torah
God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth."
36:71 - 73, Qur'an
[So] do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners? And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat. And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful?
56:63 - 64, Qur'an
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?
Psalms 104:14, Torah
[Rather, it is] He [who] causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man, that He may bring forth food out of the earth -
[And so] that they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful?
56:68 - 70, Qur'an
And have you seen the water that you drink? Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?
56:71 - 72, Qur'an
And have you seen the fire that you ignite? Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?
We have created you, so why do you not believe?
52:35 - 36, Qur'an
Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.
[2 Ezra 8:60], Torah
[Thus] those who are created have defiled the name of Him who made them, and were unthankful to Him who prepared life for them.
[But it is] We [who] have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful.
76:2 - 3, Qur'an
[For] We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.
[So] O mankind, you are those in need of God, while God is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.
58:18 - 19, Qur'an
On the Day God will resurrect them all, and they will swear to Him as they swear to you and think that they are [standing] on something. Unquestionably, it is they who are the liars. Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of God. Those are the party of Satan. Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the losers.
[God] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."
[So] be not like those who forgot God, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient -
[The ones] who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded. So Today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.
Psalms 78:10 - 11, Torah
[For] they did not keep the covenant of God, and refused to walk in His law; and forgot His works, and His wonders that He had shown them.
Psalms 9:17, Torah
[Thus] the wicked will be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God.
And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.
Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them unexpectedly? But already there have come [some of] its indications. Then what good to them, when it has come, will be their remembrance?
[Sirach 28:6 - 7], Torah
[So] remember your end, and let enmity cease; [remember] corruption and death, and abide in the commandments. Remember the commandments, and bear no malice to your neighbor; [remember] the covenant of the Highest, and wink at ignorance.
Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away?
If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."
[Book of Enoch 63:5], Torah
And they will say, "Would that we might be given a respite, so that we might praise and thank and bless Him, and make our confession in front of His glory."
23:99 - 100, Qur'an
[For such is the state of the disbelievers], until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back that I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.
[So] warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no end?"
23:106 - 107, Qur'an
They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. Our Lord, remove us from it, and if we were to return [to evil], we would indeed be wrongdoers."
But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them. And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars -
[For] indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.
[So] fulfill the covenant of God when you have taken it, and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made God, over you, a Witness. Indeed, God knows what you do.
[For] indeed, those who exchange the covenant of God and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and God will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.
But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears God - then indeed, God loves those who fear Him.
[So] why do you not believe in God while the messenger invites you to believe in your Lord and He has taken your covenant, if you should [truly] be believers?
