80:2
Because the blind man came to him.
80:3
But what would make you perceive, that perhaps he might be purified
80:4
Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him?
80:5
As for he who thinks himself free of need [from God],
80:6
You give attention to him.
80:7
And there is no [blame] upon you if he will not be purified.
80:8
But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge]
80:10
You are distracted from him.
80:11
No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder;
80:12
So whoever wills may remember it.
80:13
[It is recorded] in honored Scriptures,
80:15
In the hands of [angel] scribes,
80:17
Man is destroyed; what made him disbelieve?
80:18
From what substance did He create him?
80:19
He created him from a drop [of seed] and destined for him;
80:20
Then He eased the way for him;
80:21
Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.
80:22
Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.
80:23
No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him.
80:24
Then let mankind look at his food -
80:25
How We poured down water in torrents,
80:26
Then We broke the earth open, splitting [it with sprouts],
80:27
And caused grain to grow within it
80:29
And olive and palm trees
80:30
And orchards of dense shrubbery
80:32
[As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock.
80:33
But when the Deafening Blast comes
80:34
On the Day, a man will flee from his brother
80:35
And his mother and his father
80:36
And his wife and his children.
80:37
That Day, there will be an adequate matter for every man among them.
80:38
[Some] faces will be bright that Day - *Book of Enoch 38:4, *2 Ezra 7:55
80:39
Laughing, rejoicing at good news.
80:40
And [other] faces will have dust upon them that Day.
80:41
Blackness will cover them. *2 Ezra 7:55
