Why are there so Many Ancient Rock-Cut Ruins?
For God Destroyed them for their Sins, or have you Not Considered How your Lord Dealt with those who Carved Homes from the Mountains?
So Proceed Throughout the Earth and Observe How the End was for the Deniers, for those are their Houses in Ruins for the Wrong they had Done
15:81 - 83, Qur'an
[For] We gave them Our signs, but they were turning away from them. And they used to carve houses from the mountains, feeling secure. But the shriek seized them in the [early] morning -
27:51 - 52, Qur'an
[For] they planned a plan [to kill their messenger Salih], and We planned a plan, while they did not perceive. [So] those are their houses, in ruins because of the wrong they had done. Indeed, there is a sign in that for people who know.
