32:1
Alif, Lam, Meem.

32:2
[This is] the revelation of the Book about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

32:3
Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, so that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you, *2 Ezra 1:35 - 36 [so that] perhaps they will be guided.

32:4
It is God who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; *Genesis 1:31 - 2:1 then He established Himself above the Throne. You do not have any protector or any intercessor besides Him; so will you not be reminded?

32:5
He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count. *Book of Jubilees 4:40, *Psalms 90:4, *Sirach 18:10*2 Peter 3:8

32:6
That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Almighty, the Merciful,

32:7
Who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay. *Genesis 2:7

32:8
Then He made his progeny out of the extract of a disdained water.

32:9
Then He proportioned him and breathed into him *Genesis 2:7, *2 Ezra 3:5 from His [Holy] Spirit and made hearing for you and vision and hearts; [but] you are grateful for little.

32:10
And they say, "When we are lost within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?" Rather, they are disbelievers in the meeting with their Lord.

32:11
Say, "The angel of death will take you who has been entrusted with you. Then you will be returned to your Lord."

32:12
If you could see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. *Book of Enoch 63:1, *Book of Enoch 63:5, *Shepherd of Hermas 17:5 Indeed, we are [now] certain."

32:13
And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word will come true from Me [that] "I will surely fill Gehenna with the jinn and mankind all together.

32:14
So taste [punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours; indeed, We have [accordingly] forgotten you. And taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do." *Psalms 9:17

32:15
They only believe in Our verses - those who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [God] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.

32:16
They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord *Psalms 119:62 in fear and hope, and they spend from what We have provided them.

32:17
And no soul knows what comforts for the eyes have been hidden for them as a reward for what they used to do. *Isaiah 64:4*Gospel of Barnabas 169:3, *1 Corinthians 2:9

32:18
Then is one who was a believer like one who was defiantly disobedient? They are not equal.

32:19
As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, there will be the Gardens of Refuge for them as an accommodation for what they used to do.

32:20
But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny."

32:21
And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment so that perhaps they will return.

32:22
And who is more wrong than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord; then he turns away from them? Indeed We will take retribution from the criminals.

32:23
And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt about meeting Him. And We made it guidance for the Children of Israel.

32:24
And We made leaders from among them guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our verses.

32:25
Indeed, your Lord will separate between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning those [matters] in which they used to differ.

32:26
Does it not guide them [when they see] how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed there are signs in that; then do they not hear?

32:27
Have they not seen that We drive the water to barren land and bring forth crops thereby from which their livestock eat and [they] themselves? Then do they not see?

32:28
And they say, "When will this conquest be, if you should be truthful?"

32:29
Say, "On the Day of Conquest, the belief of those who had disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved."

32:30
So turn away from them and wait. Indeed, they are waiting.
