75:1
I swear by the Day of Resurrection

75:2
And I swear by the self-accusing soul [to the certainty of resurrection].

75:3
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

75:4
Yes [We will]. [And We are] Able to [even] proportion his fingertips.

75:5
But man desires to continue in sin.

75:6
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

75:7
So when vision is dazzled

75:8
And the moon darkens *Matthew 24:29*Mark 13:24

75:9
And the sun and the moon are gathered,

75:10
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"

75:11
No! There is no refuge. *Book of Enoch 52:7

75:12
The [place of] settlement is to your Lord that Day.

75:13
[And] that Day, man will be informed of what he sent ahead and kept back.

75:14
Rather, man will be evidence against himself,

75:15
Even if he presents his excuses.

75:16
Do not move your tongue with it, to hasten with recitation of [the Qur'an].

75:17
Indeed, its collection and its recitation is upon Us.

75:18
So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.

75:19
Then its clarification [to you] is upon Us.

75:20
No! But you love the immediate

75:21
And leave the Hereafter.

75:22
[Some] faces will be radiant that Day, *2 Ezra 7:55

75:23
Looking at their Lord. *Book of Enoch 38:4

75:24
And [some] faces will be contorted that Day,

75:25
Expecting that [something] backbreaking will be done to them.

75:26
No! When it has reached the collar bones

75:27
And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"

75:28
And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] parting

75:29
And the leg is wound about the leg,

75:30
The driving will be to your Lord that Day.

75:31
And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed.

75:32
But [instead], he denied and turned away.

75:33
And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].

75:34
Woe to you, and woe!

75:35
Then woe to you, and woe!

75:36
Does man think that he will be left neglected?

75:37
Had he not been a drop [of seed] which was emitted?

75:38
Then he was a clinging clot, and [God] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

75:39
And He made two mates from him, the male and the female.

75:40
Is that [Creator] not Able to give life to the dead?
