17:106 - 108, Qur'an
[This is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people [of Mecca] over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively. Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration, and they say, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled -"
9:126 - 127, Qur'an
Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice but then they do not repent nor do they remember? And whenever a surah is revealed, they look at each other, [saying], "Does anyone see you?" and then they dismiss themselves. God has dismissed their hearts because they are a people who do not understand -
Isaiah 28:13, Torah
[For] the word of the Lord was to them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken and snared and taken.
73:15 - 16, Qur'an
[For] We have sent to you a messenger [Muhammad] as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger [Moses]. But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.
11:25 - 26, Qur'an
[And] We had certainly sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Indeed, I am to you a clear warner, that you not serve except God. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a painful day."
And remember the brother of 'Aad, when he warned his people in the [region of] al-Ahqaf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not serve except God. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."
[So] say [O Muhammad], "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."
And thus We have revealed to you [O Muhammad] an Arabic Qur'an that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Mecca] and those around it and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
Jeremiah 7:25, Torah
"[For] since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending [them] daily.
Jeremiah 25:5 - 7, Torah
They said, 'Turn again now, everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers forever and ever. And do not go after other gods to serve them, and to prostrate to them, and provoke Me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt. Yet you have not listened to Me,' the Lord says; 'That you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.'
Jeremiah 25:8 - 9, Torah
Therefore the Lord thus says of hosts; 'Because you have not heard My words, behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,' the Lord says, 'And Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.'"
35:25 - 26, Qur'an
And [thus] if they deny you - then already have those before them denied. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs and written ordinances and with the enlightening Scripture. Then I seized the ones who disbelieved, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
25:37 - 39, Qur'an
[For] the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment. And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them. And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.
[Thus] those before them denied, and the people [of Mecca] have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But the former peoples denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach.
We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe.
15:84 - 87, Qur'an
So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. And We have certainly given you seven of the often repeated [narrations] and the great Qur'an.
22:42 - 44, Qur'an
[But] if they deny you [O Muhammad], - so, before them, did the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud deny [their prophets], and the people of Abraham and the people of Lot and the inhabitants of Midian . And Moses was denied, so I prolonged enjoyment for the disbelievers; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
26:103 - 106, Qur'an
[So] indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord - He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. The people of Noah denied the messengers, when their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear God?"
26:121 - 124, Qur'an
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord - He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 'Aad denied the messengers, when their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God?"
26:139 - 142, Qur'an
[But] they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord - He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. Thamud denied the messengers, when their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear God?"
26:67 - 70, Qur'an
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord - He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. And recite to them the news of Abraham , when he said to his father and his people, "What do you serve?"
26:158 - 161, Qur'an
[But they denied him, so] the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord - He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. The people of Lot denied the messengers, when their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God?"
26:174 - 177, Qur'an
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord - He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. The companions of the thicket denied the messengers, when Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God?"
26:8 - 11, Qur'an
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord - He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. And when your Lord called Moses , [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - the people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear God?"
[Thus] God has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of God. That is the guidance of God by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom God leaves astray - for him there is no guide -
[For] there was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was the Qur'an a narration invented, but a guidance and mercy for a people who believe and a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things.
[So] each story We relate to you from the news of the messengers is that by which We make firm your heart. And there has come to you, in this, the truth and an instruction and a reminder for the believers -
[Whereby] there has certainly been for you in [Abraham and those with him] an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in God and the Last Day. And whoever turns away - then indeed, God is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
