98:1
Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from disbelief] until clear evidence came to them -

98:2
A messenger from God, reciting purified Scriptures

98:3
Within which are correct writings.

98:4
Nor did those who were given the Book become divided except after clear evidence had come to them.

98:5
And they were not commanded to serve [anything] except God, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give purifying [alms]. And that is the correct religion.

98:6
Indeed, those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Gehenna, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures.

98:7
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures.

98:8
Their reward with God will be Gardens of Eternity in which rivers flow beneath them, wherein they will abide forever, God being pleased with them and they being pleased with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord.
