12:38 - 40, Qur'an
[Joseph said,] "And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And it was not for us to associate anything with God. That is from the favor of God upon us and upon the people, but most of the people are not grateful. O [my] two companions of prison, are separate lords better or God, the One, the Prevailing? You worship not besides Him except [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which God has sent down no authority. Legislation is not but for God. He has commanded that you worship not except Him. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know."
And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear God and obey me.
John 20:17, Gospel
[Indeed, He is] my God, and your God.
Luke 4:8, Gospel
[So] you will worship the Lord your God, and Him only will you serve."
[Thus] they have certainly disbelieved who say, "God is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord."
[And] they have certainly disbelieved who say, "God is the third of three [Trinity]." And there is no god except one God.
Mark 12:29, Gospel
[For Jesus himself said,] "The first of all the commandments [is], 'Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord.'"
[So] this [Qur'an] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded.
[Shepherd of Hermas 26:1 - 2], Gospel
"First of all, believe that God is One, even He who created all things and set them in order, and brought all things from non-existence into being, who comprehends all things, being alone incomprehensible. Believe Him therefore, and fear Him, and in this fear be self-restrained. Keep these things, and you will cast off all wickedness from yourself, and will clothe yourself with every excellence of righteousness, and will live to God, if you keep this commandment."
James 2:19, Gospel
[Thus if] you believe that there is one God; you do well, the devils also believe, and tremble.
Mark 12:28, Gospel
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, "Which is the first commandment of all?"
Mark 12:29 - 31, Gospel
[Jesus answered] "The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord, and you will love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength - this [is] the first commandment. And the second [is] like, [namely] this, 'You will love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
Mark 12:32 - 34, Gospel
And the scribe said to him, "Well, master, you have said the truth, for there is one God; and there is none other but He. And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love [his] neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."
Matthew 19:16, Gospel
[Then], behold, [another] came and said to him, "Good master, what good thing will I do, that I may have eternal life?"
Matthew 19:17 - 18, Gospel
And [Jesus] said to him, "Why do you call me good? [There are] none good but One, [that is], God, but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments." He says to him, "Which?"
Luke 10:26, Gospel
[Jesus] said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read?"
Deuteronomy 6:4 - 5, Torah
Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God [is] one Lord, and you will love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
Luke 10:28, Gospel
And [Jesus] said to him, "You have answered right; do this, and you will live.
John 17:3, Gospel
[For] this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and the Messiah, Jesus, whom You have sent."
[Thus,] your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
[So] say, "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say, "God is witness between me and you. And this Qur'an was revealed to me that I may warn you thereby and whomever it reaches. Do you [truly] testify that with God there are other deities?" Say, "I will not testify [with you]." Say, "Indeed, He is but one God, and indeed, I am free of what you associate [with Him]."
Psalms 18:31, Torah
Who [is] God except the Lord? Or who [is] a rock except our God?
Psalms 86:10, Torah
For You [are] great, and do wondrous things, You [are] God alone.
Mark 12:32, Gospel
For there is [only] one God; and there is none other but He.
1 Samuel 2:2, Torah
[Thus there are] none holy as the Lord, for [there are] none beside You, neither [is there] any rock like our God.
Isaiah 45:21, Torah
[So] tell [them] and bring [them] near; indeed, let them take counsel together, who has declared this from ancient time? [Who] has told it from that time? [Have] not I the Lord? And [there is] no god beside Me; a just God and a Savior; [there are] none beside Me.
[So] say, "Show me those whom you have attached to Him as partners. No! Rather, He [alone] is God, the Almighty, the Most Wise."
Deuteronomy 4:39, Torah
[So] know therefore this day, and consider [it] in your heart, that the Lord, He [is] God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath, [there are] none else.
[Thus blessed is] He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and who has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination.
2 Samuel 7:22, Torah
[So say,] "You are great, O Lord God, for [there are] none like You, neither [is there any] god beside You, according to all that we have heard with our ears."
"[Thus,] no partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you of Mecca] of those in submission [to God]."
Psalms 81:15, Torah
The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves to Him, but their time should have endured forever.
Romans 10:3, Gospel
For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.
James 4:7, Gospel
[So] submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Corinthians 15:27 - 28, Gospel
For He has submitted all things under His feet. But when He says all things are submitted under [Him, it is] manifest that He is excepted, who submitted all things under Him. And when all things will be submitted to Him, then the Son [of man] himself will also be submitted to Him who submitted all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
So is it other than the religion of God they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned?
[So] strive for God with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. God named you "Muslims" [in submission to God] before [in former Scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So hold fast to God and establish prayer and give charity. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.
[So] whoever submits his face to God while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to God will be the outcome of [all] matters.
We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."
Deuteronomy 10:12, Torah
[So remember that the Lord said to Moses,] "And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."
Psalms 95:3 - 6, Torah
For the Lord [is] a great God, and a great King above all gods. In His hand [are] the deep places of the earth, the strength of the hills [is] also His. The sea [is] His, and He made it, and His hands formed the dry [land]. O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
[And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said], "And indeed, God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."
[But] when it is said to them, "Follow what God has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?
Matthew 4:9 - 10, Gospel
[For Satan] said to him, "All these things will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me." Then Jesus said to him, "Get away from here, Satan, for it is written, 'You will worship the Lord your God, and Him only will you serve.'"
Acts 24:14, Gospel
[Therefore] I confess this to you, that after the way which they call heresy, that I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets.
[For] indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.
[But] if you should disbelieve, you and whoever is on the earth entirely - indeed, God is Free of need and Praiseworthy.
Isaiah 41:4, Torah
"Who has contrived and done [it], calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the First, and with the Last; I [am] He.
Isaiah 43:13, Torah
Indeed, before the day [was,] I [am] He; and [there are] none who can deliver out of My hand, I will work, and who will let it?"
Isaiah 44:6, Torah
Thus the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the Lord of hosts says; "I am the First, and I am the Last; and beside Me there is no god.
Isaiah 43:10, Torah
[So] you [are] My witnesses," the Lord says, "And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I [am] He, before Me there was no god formed, neither will there be after Me."
[For] He neither begets, nor is born,
[For] He is the First, and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing.
Revelation 21:6, Gospel
[Thus] He said to me, "It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give to him who is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."
1 Timothy 1:17, Gospel
To the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the Only Wise God, [is] honor and glory forever and ever.
Deuteronomy 32:40, Torah
[For God said,] "I lift up My hand to heaven, and say, I live forever."
112:1 - 2, Qur'an
[So] say, "He is God, [who is] One, God, the Eternal, the Absolute."
[Tobit 13:1], Torah
[And thus] Tobit wrote a prayer of rejoicing, and said, "Blessed is God who lives forever, and blessed is His kingdom."
[So] rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [God] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted.
And do not be grieved by those who hasten into disbelief. Indeed, they will never harm God at all. God intends that He should give them no share in the Hereafter, and for them is a great punishment.
Do not invoke with God another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned.
1 Chronicles 16:11, Torah
[So] seek the Lord and His strength, seek His Face continually.
2 Chronicles 7:14, Torah
[For] if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
1 Peter 3:12 - 14, Gospel
For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and His ears [are open] to their prayers, but the Face of the Lord [is] against those who do evil. And who [is] he who will harm you, if you are followers of that which is good? But if you suffer for righteousness' sake, [be] happy, and do not be afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.
Psalms 11:5 - 7, Torah
[For] the Lord tests the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence. He will rain snares upon the wicked, fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest, [this will be] the portion of their cup. For the righteous Lord loves righteousness; His Countenance beholds the upright.
13:22 - 24, Qur'an
[Thus for] those who are patient, seeking the Countenance of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good - those will have the good consequence of [this] home - Gardens of Eden; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying], "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."
Psalms 45:6, Torah
Your Throne, O God, [is] forever and ever, the scepter of Your kingdom [is] a right scepter.
23:116 - 117, Qur'an
[Thus,] so Exalted is God, the King, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne. And whoever invokes besides God another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.
[So] say, "If there had been with Him [other] gods, as they say, then they [each] would have sought to the Owner of the Throne a way."
Psalms 9:7 - 8, Torah
But the Lord will endure forever, He has prepared His Throne for Judgement. And He will judge the world in righteousness, He will minister Judgement to the people in uprightness.
But if they turn away, say, "Sufficient for me is God; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne."
1 Kings 22:19, Torah
[So] hear therefore the word of the Lord, I saw the Lord sitting on His Throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right hand and on His left.
Revelation 7:11 - 12, Gospel
And [thus] all the angels stood around the Throne, and the elders and the four beasts, and they fell before the Throne on their faces, and worshiped God, saying, "Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, [is] to our God forever and ever."
76:29 - 30, Qur'an
Indeed, this is a reminder, so he who wills may take to his Lord a way. And you do not will except that God wills. Indeed, God is ever Knowing and Wise.
18:23 - 24, Qur'an
[So] never say of anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow," except [when adding], "If God wills."
James 4:14 - 15, Gospel
[For] you do not know what [will be] on the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you instead [should] say, "If the Lord wills, we will live, and do this, or that."
[But] remember your Lord when you forget [it] and say, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to what is nearer than this to right conduct."
Daniel 4:35, Torah
[For] all the inhabitants of the earth [are] reputed as nothing, and He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and [among] the inhabitants of the earth, and none can strike His hand, or say to Him, "What do You do?"
[For] your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is God and high above what they associate with Him.
[Thus,] Your Lord is most knowing of you. If He wills, He will have mercy upon you; or if He wills, He will punish you. And We have not sent you, over them as a manager -
[For] if God had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do.
[Thus,] God keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And God sends astray the wrongdoers. And God does what He wills.
John 5:37, Gospel
[Jesus said] "The [Creator] Himself, who has sent me, has borne witness of me. You have not seen His shape, nor heard His voice at any time."
Job 9:11, Torah
[For] behold, He goes by me, and I do not see [Him], He also passes on, but I do not perceive Him.
6:102 - 103, Qur'an
[For] that is God, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things. Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted.
Deuteronomy 4:15 - 18, Torah
Therefore, take good heed to yourselves; for you saw no manner of similitude on the day [that] the Lord spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire. Unless you corrupt [yourselves], and make a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any beast that [is] on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flies in the air, the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that [is] in the waters beneath the earth.
Deuteronomy 4:23, Torah
[So] take heed to yourselves, unless you forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which He made with you, and make a graven image, [or] the likeness of any [thing], which the Lord your God has forbidden you.
Deuteronomy 4:12, Torah
[For when] the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire, you heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only [you heard] a voice.
Leviticus 26:1, Torah
[Thus] you will make no idols or graven image, neither rear up a standing image, neither will you set up [any] image of stone in your land, to prostrate to it, for I [am] the Lord your God.
Acts 15:20, Gospel
We write to them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and [from] fornication, and [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.
Isaiah 2:8, Torah
[For] their land is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.
[Wisdom of Solomon 15:15], Torah
[For] they [have] counted all the idols of the heathen to be gods; which neither have the use of eyes to see, nor noses to draw breath, nor ears to hear, nor fingers of hands to handle; and as for their feet, they are slow to go.
Psalms 115:4 - 8, Torah
[Thus] their idols [are] silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak, they have eyes, but they do not see. They have ears, but they do not hear, they have noses, but they do not smell. They have hands, but they do not handle, they have feet, but they do not walk, neither do they speak through their throat. Those who make them are like them; [so is] everyone who trusts in them -
Jeremiah 10:14 - 15, Torah
[For] every man is brutish in [his] knowledge, every founder is confounded by the graven image, for his molten image [is] falsehood, and [there is] no breath in them. They [are] vanity, [and] the work of errors, they will perish in the time of their visitation -
7:192 - 193, Qur'an
[For] the false deities are unable to help themselves, nor can they [give] them help. And if you [believers] invite them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is all the same for you whether you invite them or you are silent -
[Wisdom of Solomon 13:10], Torah
[For] they are miserable, and their hope is in dead things, who call them gods, which are the works of men’s hands, gold and silver, to show art in, and resemblances of beasts, or a stone good for nothing, the work of an ancient hand.
[Wisdom of Solomon 13:17 - 14:1], Torah
[For] he makes prayer for his goods, for his wife and children, and is not ashamed to speak to that which has no life. For health, he calls upon that which is weak; for life, prays to that which is dead; for aid, humbly beseeches that which has least means to help; and for a good journey he asks of that which cannot set a foot forward: and for gaining and getting, and for good success of his hands, asks ability to do of him, that is most unable to do anything. Again, one preparing himself to sail, and about to pass through the raging waves, calls upon a piece of wood more rotten than the vessel that carries him.
[Wisdom of Solomon 13:16], Torah
[And yet] he provided for it that it might not fall, knowing that it was unable to help itself; for it is an image, and has need of help.
7:194 - 195, Qur'an
[So] indeed, those you [polytheists] call upon besides God are servants like you. So call upon them and let them respond to you, if you should be truthful. Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite."
[But] they are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance.
Habakkuk 2:18 - 19, Torah
[So] what does the graven image profit, that the maker thereof has engraved it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusts therein, to make dumb idols? Woe to him who says to the wood, "Awake;" [and] to the dumb stone, "Arise, it will teach!" Behold, it [is] laid over with gold and silver, and [there is] no breath at all in the midst of it.
29:16 - 17, Qur'an
[Thus We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship God and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know. You only worship, besides God, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides God do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from God provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."
Acts 7:49 - 50, Gospel
[The Most High said,] "Heaven [is] My Throne, and earth [is] My footstool, what House will you build Me? Says the Lord, or what [is] the place of My rest? Has My hand not made all these things?
Isaiah 66:2, Torah
[Yes,] My hand has made all those [things], and all those [things] have been," the Lord says,
Isaiah 45:5 - 8, Torah
"[For] I [am] the Lord, and [there are] none else, [there is] no god beside Me, I girded you, though you have not known Me. That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that [there are] none beside Me. I [am] the Lord, and [there are] none else. I form the light, and create darkness, I make peace, and create evil, I the Lord do all these [things]. Drop down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness, let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it."
John 1:3, Gospel
[And thus] all things were made by Him; and without Him nothing was made that was made.
[So] say, "Who is Lord of the heavens and earth?" Say, "God." Say, "Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm?" Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to God partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them?" Say, "God is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing."
Acts 17:24 - 25, Gospel
[So I declare Him to you,] God, who made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; neither is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He gives life to all, and breath, and all things.
Psalms 146:5 - 6, Torah
[Thus] happy [is he] who [has] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the Lord his God. Who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that [is] therein, who keeps truth forever.
Say, "Have you considered your 'partners' whom you invoke besides God? Show me what they have created from the earth, or have they partnership [with Him] in the heavens? Or have We given them a book so they are [standing] on evidence therefrom? [No], rather, the wrongdoers do not promise each other except delusion.
[For] had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides God, they both would have been ruined. So Exalted is God, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.
But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and do not possess for themselves any harm or benefit and do not possess [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.
4:117 - 120, Qur'an
[For] they call upon instead of Him none but female [deities], and they [actually] call upon none but a rebellious Satan. Whom God has cursed. For he had said, "I will surely take from among Your servants a specific portion. And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of God." And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of God has certainly sustained a clear loss. Satan promises them and arouses desire in them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion.
[So] by God, We did certainly send [messengers] to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them. And he is the disbelievers' ally today [as well], and they will have a painful punishment.
37:123 - 126, Qur'an
And indeed, Elijah was from among the messengers, when he said to his people, "Will you not fear God? Do you call upon Baal and leave the best of creators - God, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?"
Jeremiah 7:8 - 9, Torah
[And Jeremiah said to his people,] "Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit. Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know?"
And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds."
[But] the eminent among the people of Pharaoh said, "Will you abandon you and your gods and leave Moses and his people to cause corruption in the land? [Pharaoh] said, "We will kill their sons and keep their women alive; and indeed, we are subjugators over them."
But the plan of the disbelievers is not except in error.
Exodus 12:12, Torah
[Thus God said,] "I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgement, I [am] the Lord."
[So] We saved your forefathers from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
And We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And they were not availed at all by their gods which they invoked other than God when there came the command of your Lord. And they did not increase them in other than ruin -
Numbers 33:4, Torah
For the Egyptians buried all [their] firstborn, whom the Lord had struck among them; the Lord also executed judgements upon their gods.
43:57 - 58, Qur'an
And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. And they said, "Are our gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.
Acts 17:16, Gospel
[And later,] while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
Acts 19:24 - 28, Gospel
For a certain [man] named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain to the craftsmen; whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, "Men, you know that by this craft we have our wealth. Moreover you see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are not gods, which are made with hands. So that not only is our craft in danger to be set at nothing; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worships." And when they heard [these sayings], they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, "Great [is] Diana of the Ephesians."
Acts 19:35, Gospel
And when the town clerk had appeased the people, he said, "Men of Ephesus, what man is there who does not know how the city of the Ephesians is a worshiper of the great goddess Diana, and of the [image] which fell down from Jupiter?"
Acts 14:11 - 13, Gospel
[But] when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, "The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men." And they called Barnabas, "Jupiter;" and Paul, "Mercurius," because he was the chief speaker. Then the priest of Jupiter, who was before their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
Acts 14:14 - 16, Gospel
[Which] when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard [of], they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, and saying, "Men, why do you do these things? We are also men of like passions with you, and we preach to you that you should turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein. Who in times past left all nations to walk in their own ways."
[So] ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshiped?
Indeed, God does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with God has certainly gone far astray.
[For] unquestionably, to God belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth. And those who invoke other than God do not [actually] follow [His] "partners." They follow not except assumption, and they are not but falsifying.
Deuteronomy 32:17, Torah
[Rather,] they sacrificed to devils, not to God; to gods whom they did not know, to new gods that came up, whom your fathers did not fear.
1 Corinthians 10:19 - 21, Gospel
[So] what do I say then? That the idol is anything? Or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything? But I [say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God, and I am not willing that you should have fellowship with devils. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of devils, you cannot be partakers of the Lord's table and of the table of devils.
36:60 - 61, Qur'an
[Thus] did I not enjoin upon you, children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy - and that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path.
That is because God is the Truth, and that which they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because God is the Most High, the Grand.
But they worship rather than God that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
[For Satan's] authority is only over those who take him as an ally and those who through him associate others with God.
4:117 - 120, Qur'an
[So] they call upon instead of Him none but female [deities], and they [actually] call upon none but a rebellious Satan, whom God has cursed. But Satan does not promise them except delusion -
[For] they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and do not possess for themselves any harm or benefit and do not possess [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.
[So] if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in God. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord.
34:20 - 22, Qur'an
[Satan] had already confirmed through them his assumption, so they followed him, except for a party of believers. And he had over them no authority except [it was decreed] that We might make evident who believes in the Hereafter from who is thereof in doubt. And your Lord, over all things, is Guardian. Say, "Invoke those you claim [as deities] besides God." They do not possess an atom's weight [of ability] in the heavens or on the earth, and they do not have therein any partnership [with Him], nor is there for Him from among them any assistant.
And [yet], among the people are those who take other than God as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love God. But those who believe are stronger in love for God. And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to God and that God is severe in punishment.
Romans 13:1, Gospel
[So] let every soul submit to the higher powers. For there is no power but of God, the powers that be, are ordained by God.
Psalms 62:11, Torah
[Thus] God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power [belongs] to God.
[So] say, "O God, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things Competent."
[So] say, "Praise to God, who has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness, and who has not taken a son; and glorify Him with [great] glorification."
Hosea 13:4, Torah
I [am] the Lord your God from the land of Egypt, and you will know no god but Me, for [there is] no savior beside Me.
*1 Corinthians 10:7, Gospel
[So] neither be idolaters, as some of them [were]; as it is written, 'The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.'
*Exodus 32:6 - 9, Torah
[It reads,] and they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. And the Lord said to Moses, "Go, get down; for your people, whom you brought out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted [themselves]. They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them, they have made themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed thereto, and said, 'These [are] your gods, O Israel, which have brought you up out of the land of Egypt.' And the Lord said to Moses, "I have seen these people, and, behold, they [are] a stiffnecked people.'"
Acts 7:41, Gospel
[For] they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
[For the Samiri] extracted for them [the statue of] a calf which had a lowing sound, and they said, "This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot."
Psalms 106:20 - 21, Torah
Thus they changed His glory into the similitude of an ox who eats grass. [And so] they forgot God their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt.
Nehemiah 9:18, Torah
Indeed, [for] when they had made themselves a molten calf, [they] said, "This [is] your god who brought you up out of Egypt, and had done great provocations."
1 Corinthians 10:11 - 12, Gospel
Now all these things happened to them for examples, and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands, take heed unless he falls.
Romans 1:21 - 23, Gospel
Because when they knew God, they glorified [Him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like a corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.
[And so, like the calf,] they have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides God, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary, [and have thus changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible men]. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him -
[For] those they invoke other than God create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.
John 1:3, Gospel
[For] all things were made by Him; and without Him nothing was made that was made.
Romans 1:25, Gospel
[Thus they] changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever.
[For] indeed, the example of Jesus to God is like that of Adam. [God] created him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.
Isaiah 42:8, Torah
I [am] the Lord, that [is] My name, and I will not give My glory to another, neither My praise to graven images.
1 Timothy 1:17, Gospel
[For] to the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the Only Wise God, [is] honor and glory forever and ever.
Romans 2:21 - 22, Gospel
You therefore who teaches another, do you not teach yourself? You who preaches a man should not steal, do you steal? You who says a man should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhors idols, do you commit sacrilege?
[So] have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, who believe in false objects of worship and superstition?
They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides God, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.
[So beware the Day] when God will say, "Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides God?'"
[Jesus] will say, "I said not to them except what You commanded me,
Matthew 22:37 - 40, Gospel
[To] love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like it, 'You will love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
John 20:17, Gospel
[And indeed, He is] my God, and your God.
Matthew 4:10, Gospel
[So] you will worship the Lord your God, and Him only will you serve."
[Thus] they have certainly disbelieved who say, "God is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with God - God has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
So will they not repent to God and seek His forgiveness? And God is Forgiving and Merciful.
Matthew 6:12 - 13, Gospel
[So say,] "Forgive us our debts [O God], as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever."
[2 Ezra 16:75 - 76], Torah
"Be not afraid, neither doubt; for God is your guide, and the guide of those who keep My commandments and precepts," the Lord God says; "Do not let your sins weigh you down, and do not let your iniquities lift themselves up."
[So] say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, "God guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who does not guide unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you - how do you judge?"
John 5:30, Gospel
[For Jesus said,] "I can of my own self do nothing, as I hear, I judge, and my judgement is just; because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the Father who has sent me."
[And indeed,] they cannot precede Him in word, and they act by His command -
John 12:49 - 50, Gospel
For [Jesus said,] "I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting, whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak.
John 17:3, Gospel
And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus, the Messiah, whom You have sent.
John 13:16, Gospel
Verily, verily, I say to you, 'The servant is not greater than his Lord; neither he who is sent greater than He who sent him.'
John 14:28, Gospel
[And] you have heard how I said to you, I go away, and come [again] to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, 'I go to the Father,' for the Father is greater than I.
John 20:17, Gospel
[And indeed, He is] my Father, and your Father [Creator]; and my God, and your God.
John 14:24, Gospel
[But] he who does not love, does not keep my sayings, and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me."
[Thus] that is the guidance of God by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with God, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing.
40:14 - 16, Qur'an
So invoke God, [being] sincere to Him in religion, although the disbelievers dislike it. [He is] the Exalted above [all] degrees, Owner of the Throne; He places the Spirit of His command upon whom He wills of His servants to warn of the Day of Meeting. The Day they come forth nothing concerning them will be concealed from God. To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day? To God, the One, the Prevailing.
Acts 2:22, Gospel
Men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth [was] a man approved by God among you through miracles and wonders and signs, which God did through him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know.
Acts 10:38, Gospel
[Whereby] God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
John 9:31 - 33, Gospel
Now we know that if any man is a worshiper of God, and does His will, He hears him, but God does not hear sinners. Since the world began it was not heard that any man opened the eyes of one who was born blind. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
John 3:2, Gospel
[And so remember when Nicodemus] came to Jesus by night, and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher [who] comes from God, for no man can do these miracles that you do, except God is with him."
[For God made him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who said], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of God. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of God. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers."
John 11:21 - 22, Gospel
[And so remember when] Martha said to Jesus, "Master, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know, that even now, whatever you will ask of God, God will give you."
John 11:39, Gospel
[So] Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, says to him, "Master, by this time he stinks, for he has been [dead] for four days." Jesus says to her, "Did I not say to you, that, if you would believe, you should see the glory of God?"
John 11:41, Gospel
Then they took away the stone [from the place] where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up [his] eyes, and said, "[Creator], I thank You that You have heard me. And I knew that You hear me always, but because of the people who stand by, I said [it], that they may believe that You have sent me."
[Thus] their messengers said to them, "We are only men like you, but God confers favor upon whom He wills of His servants. It has never been for us to bring you evidence except by permission of God. And upon God let the believers rely."
John 11:43, Gospel
And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth."
Matthew 9:8, Gospel
[And so] when the multitudes saw [it], they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such power to men.
John 11:47, Gospel
[But] the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, "What do we do? For this man does many miracles."
John 11:53, Gospel
Then from that day forth they took counsel together to put him to death.
[So warn of the Day] when God will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Holy Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic."
Luke 11:15, Gospel
[For] some of them said, "He casts out devils through Baalzebub the chief of the devils."
Luke 11:19 - 20, Gospel
[But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said to them,] "And if I by Baalzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast [them] out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I, with the finger of God, cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God has come upon you."
Luke 9:11, Gospel
And [so] the people, when they knew [it], followed him, and he received them, and he spoke to them of the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.
Luke 17:12 - 14, Gospel
And [so remember] as [Jesus] entered into a certain village, there met him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up [their] voices, and said, "Jesus, master, have mercy on us." And when he saw [them], he said to them, "Go show yourselves to the priests." And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on [his] face at his feet, giving him thanks, and he was a Samaritan.
Luke 17:17 - 19, Gospel
And Jesus answering said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where [are] the nine? None are found who returned to give glory to God, except this stranger." And he said to him, "Arise, go your way, your faith has made you whole."
Luke 13:11 - 13, Gospel
And [also remember], behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up [herself]. And when Jesus saw her, he called [her to him], and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." And he laid [his] hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
Luke 8:39, Gospel
[And remember when Jesus had cast out devils, he said,] "Return to your own house, and show what great things God has done to you." [But] he went his way, and published throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done to him.
[So] say, "It is God who saves you from [this] and from every distress; then you [still] associate others with Him."
16:53 - 55, Qur'an
[But] whatever you have of favor - it is from God. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help. Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord, so they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.
John 17:7, Gospel
[Thus Jesus said,] "Now they have known that all things whatever You have given me are of You."
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "God is the Messiah, the son of Mary"
John 8:58, Gospel [see Exodus 3:14]
[Whereby they say this, for] Jesus said to [the Jews], "Verily, verily, I say to you, 'Before Abraham was, I am.'"
[But] indeed, all things We created with predestination.
[Sirach 23:20], Torah
[And thus] He knew all things before they were ever created; so also after they were perfected, He looked upon them all.
15:24 - 25, Qur'an
[And so] We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come]. And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.
19:20 - 21, Qur'an
[So remember when Mary] said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?" He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.'"
22:75 - 76, Qur'an
[And thus,] God chooses from the angels messengers and from the people. Indeed, God is Hearing and Seeing. He knows what is before them and what will be after them. And to God will be returned [all] matters.
John 8:56, Gospel
[And so Jesus thereby said,] "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day, and he saw [it], and was glad."
37:103 - 107, Qur'an
[For] when [Abraham and his son] had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, We called to him, "O Abraham, you have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, this was the clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.
Luke 24:44, Gospel
[So Jesus] said to them, "These [are among] the words which I spoke to you, while I was with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and [in] the prophets [Abraham], and [in] the Psalms, concerning me."
[And likewise,] no disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being - indeed that, for God, is easy.
54:11 - 12, Qur'an
[And so remember Noah, when] We opened the gates of the heaven with water pouring down and caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.
[And Lot, when] We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.
8:42 - 43, Qur'an
[And remember Muhammad,] when you were on the near side of the valley, and they were on the farther side, and the caravan was lower than you. If you had made an appointment, you would have missed the appointment. But so that God might accomplish a matter already destined - that those who perished would perish upon evidence and those who lived would live upon evidence; and indeed, God is Hearing and Knowing. And when He showed them to you, when you met, as few in your eyes, and He made you [appear] as few in their eyes so that God might accomplish a matter already destined. And to God are [all] matters returned.
[So] there is not to be upon the prophet any discomfort concerning that which God has imposed upon him. [This is] the established way of God with those [prophets] who have passed on before. And ever is the command of God a destiny decreed -
[Sirach 42:19 - 20], Torah
[Whereby] He declares the things that are past, and to come, and reveals the steps of hidden things. No thought escapes Him, neither is any word hidden from Him.
[For] your god is only God, except for whom there is no deity. He has encompassed all things in knowledge.
Isaiah 43:10 - 13, Torah
"[So] You [are] My witnesses," the Lord says, "And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I [am] He, before Me there was no god formed, neither will there be after Me. I, [even] I, [am] the Lord; and beside Me [there is] no savior. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shown, when [there was] no strange [god] among you, therefore you [are] My witnesses," the Lord says, "That I [am] God. Indeed, before the day [was,] I [am] He; and [there are] none who can deliver out of My hand, I will work, and who will let it?"
[Thus] they have certainly disbelieved who say that God is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent God at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to God belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and God is over all things Competent.
God presents an example, a slave owned by quarreling partners and another belonging exclusively to one man - are they equal in comparison? Praise be to God! But most of them do not know -
1 John 5:7, Gospel
[For they say,] "There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one.
Matthew 28:19, Gospel
[So] go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit."
22:52 - 54, Qur'an
[But] We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But God abolishes that which Satan throws in; then God makes precise His verses. And God is Knowing and Wise. [That is] so He may make what Satan throws in a trial for those within whose hearts is disease and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension. And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is God the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path.
[And thus] God has said, "Do not take for yourselves two deities. He is but one God, so fear only Me."
Luke 16:13, Gospel
"[For] no servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."
And [yet] among the people are those who take other than God as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love God. But those who believe are stronger in love for God. And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to God and that God is severe in punishment.
Isaiah 44:8 - 9, Torah
[But] do not fear, neither be afraid, have I not told you from that time, and have [I not] declared [it]? You [are] even My witnesses. Is there a God beside Me? [There is] no god; I do not know [any]. Those who make a graven image, all of them [are] vanity; and their delectable things will not profit; and they [are] their own witnesses; they do not see, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
[So] O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about God except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of God [and the Messiah] and His word which He directed to Mary, and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in God and His messengers. And do not say, "Three [Trinity]"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, God is but one God.
5:73 - 74, Qur'an
[And thus,] they have certainly disbelieved who say, "God is the third of three [Trinity]." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. So will they not repent to God and seek His forgiveness? And God is Forgiving and Merciful.
Isaiah 40:18, Torah
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?
112:1 - 4, Qur'an
Say, "He is God, [who is] One, God, the Eternal, the Absolute. He neither begets, nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Isaiah 46:9, Torah
[For] remember the former things of old, for I [am] God, and [there are] none else; [I am] God, and [there are] none like Me -
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them - so worship Him and have patience for His worship. Do you know of any similarity to Him?"
[But] they have attributed to God equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy yourselves, for indeed, your destination is the Fire."
[For] most of them believe not in God except while they associate others with Him.
[But] unquestionably, for God is the pure religion. And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to God in position." Indeed, God will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, God does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever.
[Or] have you [not] seen one who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and God has sent him astray due to knowledge, and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after God? Then will you not be reminded?
Isaiah 44:13, Torah
[For] the carpenter stretches out [his] rule; he marks it out with a line; he fits it with planes, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
Isaiah 44:17 - 18, Torah
And the residue thereof he makes a god, [even] his graven image, he falls down to it, and worships [it], and prays to it, and says, "Deliver me; for you [are] my god." They have not known or understood, for He has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; [and] their hearts, that they cannot understand.
Say, "To God belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned."
[But] they worship other than God that which neither harms them nor benefits them, and they say, "These are our intercessors with God." Say, "Do you inform God of something He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?" Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
28:74 - 75, Qur'an
[So warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are my 'partners' which you used to claim?" And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to God, and lost from them is that which they used to invent.
[Thus] when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.
And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus [as Lord] before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness.
Matthew 7:22 - 23, Gospel
[For Jesus said,] "Many will say to me in that Day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? And in your name we have cast out devils? And in your name done many wonderful works?' And then I will profess to them, 'I never knew you, depart from me, you who work iniquity.'"
[Thus] if you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; and if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your association. And none can inform you like [One] Acquainted [with all matters].
Luke 13:26 - 27, Gospel
[But] then you will begin to say, "We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets." But [Jesus] will say, "I tell you, I do not know from where you are, depart from me, workers of iniquity."
Psalms 53:4, Torah
[So] do the workers of iniquity have no knowledge? Who eats up my people [as] they eat bread, they have not called upon God.
[For] to Him [alone] is the supplication of truth. And those they call upon besides Him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus]. And [thus] the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error.
18:52 - 53, Qur'an
[So warn of] the Day when He will say, "Call 'My partners' whom you claimed," and they will invoke them, but they will not respond to them. And We will put between them [a valley of] destruction. And the criminals will see the Fire and will be certain that they are to fall therein. And they will not find from it a way elsewhere.
Deuteronomy 32:37 - 39, Torah
And He will say, "Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, which ate the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god with Me, I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal, neither are there any that can deliver out of My hand."
18:100 - 102, Qur'an
[So] We will present Hell that Day to the disbelievers, on display - those whose eyes had been within a cover [removed] from My remembrance, and they were not able to hear. Then do those who disbelieve think that they can take My servants instead of Me as allies? Indeed, We have prepared Hell for the disbelievers as a lodging.
[They will be told], "That is because, when God was called upon alone, you disbelieved; but if others were associated with Him, you believed. So the judgement is with God, the Most High, the Grand."
And they will impart to God that Day [their] submission, and lost from them is what they used to invent.
[Wisdom of Solomon 12:27], Torah
[So] look, for what things they grudged, when they were punished, that is, for those whom they thought to be gods; now being punished in them, when they saw it, they acknowledged Him to be the true God, whom before they denied to know; and therefore extreme damnation came upon them.
Ephesians 5:5 - 7, Gospel
For this you know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words, for because of these things, the wrath of God comes upon the children of disobedience. Be not therefore partakers with them.
Ezekiel 14:7 - 8, Torah
For everyone of the house of Israel, or of the stranger who sojourns in Israel, who separates himself from Me, and sets up his idols in his heart, and puts the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me; I the Lord will answer him by Myself, and I will set My Face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people; and you will know that I [am] the Lord.
Leviticus 26:30, Torah
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols, and My soul will abhor you.
[Thus] it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with God, your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers.
[For] indeed, God does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with God has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin.
21:19 - 20, Qur'an
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire. They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken.
John 4:23 - 24, Gospel
"But the Hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the [Creator] in spirit and in truth, for the [Creator] seeks such to worship Him. God [is] a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship [Him] in spirit and in truth."
[In that Hour,] they will say, "Praise to God, who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers."
Revelation 19:1, Gospel
[So] after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, "Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, to the Lord our God."
Revelation 19:5 - 6, Gospel
And a voice came out of the Throne, saying, "Praise our God - all His servants, and you who fear Him, both small and great." And I heard as it were, the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia, for the Lord God omnipotent reigns."
[So] you will see the angels surrounding the Throne, exalting [God] with praise of their Lord. And it will be judged between them in truth, and it will be said, "[All] praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
[Tobit 13:18], Torah
And [thus] all her streets will say, "Alleluia;" and they will praise Him, saying, "Blessed is God, who has extolled it forever."
