25:2
He [to] whom the kingdom of the heavens and the earth [belongs], and who has not taken a son, and has not had a partner in [His] Kingdom, and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination.
25:3
But they have taken gods besides Him which create nothing, while they are created, and do not possess any harm or benefit for themselves and do not possess [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.
25:4
And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur'an] is nothing except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie.
25:5
And they say, "[They are] legends of the former [peoples] which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."
25:6
Say, "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful."
25:7
And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was an angel not sent down to him so he would be a warner with him?"
25:8
Or, "Has a treasure been cast [down] to him [from heaven]?" Or, "Does he have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You do not follow [anyone] but a man affected by magic."
25:9
Look how they strike comparisons for you; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.
25:10
He is blessed who, if He willed, could have made [something] better than that for you - Gardens in which rivers flow beneath - and He could make palaces for you.
25:11
But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared a Blaze for those who deny the Hour.
25:12
When the Hellfire sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring.
25:13
And when they are thrown into a narrow place bound in chains therein, *Matthew 22:13 they will cry out thereupon for destruction.
25:14
[They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction."
25:15
Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to those who fear [God]? It will be a reward and a destination for them.
25:16
There is whatever they wish therein, [while] abiding eternally. It is a promise upon your Lord [that is] asked about.
25:17
And the Day He will gather them and that which they serve besides God and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?"
25:18
They will say, "You are Exalted! It was not for us to take any allies besides You. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the reminder and became a ruined people."
25:19
So they will deny you in what you say, and you cannot avert or help. And whoever commits injustice among you - We will make him taste a great punishment.
25:20
And We did not send any of the messengers before you except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as trial for others - will you have patience? And your Lord is Seeing.
25:21
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were angels not sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.
25:22
The Day they see the angels - there will be no good news that Day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."
25:23
And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dispersed dust. *Wisdom of Solomon 5:14
25:24
The companions of the Garden are [in] a better settlement and better resting place that Day.
25:25
And the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
25:26
The true Kingdom is for the Most Gracious that Day. And it will be a difficult Day upon the disbelievers.
25:27
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken a way with the messenger.
25:28
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.
25:29
He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And Satan is a deserter to man."
25:30
And the messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [an] abandoned [thing]."
25:31
And thus We have made an enemy for every prophet from among the criminals. But your Lord is sufficient as a guide and a helper.
25:32
And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] so that We may strengthen your heart thereby. And We have spaced it distinctly.
25:33
And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.
25:34
The ones who are gathered [and dragged] on their faces to Gehenna - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.
25:35
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed his brother Aaron as an assistant with him.
25:36
And We said, "Go, both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.
25:37
And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them a sign for mankind. And We have prepared a painful punishment for the wrongdoers.
25:38
And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.
25:39
And We set forth examples [as warnings] for each, and We destroyed each with [total] destruction.
25:40
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting Resurrection.
25:41
And when they see you, they do not take you in [anything] except ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom God has sent as a messenger?
25:42
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast to them." But they are going to know who is farthest astray in [his] way when they see the punishment.
25:43
Have you seen the one who takes his own desire as his god? Then would you be responsible for him?
25:44
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are like nothing except livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.
25:45
Have you not looked to your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun as an indication for it.
25:46
Then We withdraw it into Us in a gradual withdrawal.
25:47
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing, and sleep [as a means for] rest, and has made the day as a resurrection.
25:48
And it is He who sends the winds as good news before His mercy, and We send down pure water from the heaven
25:49
So that We may bring a dead land to life thereby and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
25:50
And We have certainly explained it among them so that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse [anything] except disbelief.
25:51
And if We had willed, We could have sent a warner into every city.
25:52
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive a great striving against them with it.
25:53
And it is He who has released the two seas [simultaneously], one fresh and sweet, and one salty and bitter, and He placed a barrier and prohibiting partition between them. *Genesis 1:6 - 7, *2 Ezra 6:41
25:54
And it is He who has created a human being from water and made a lineage and marriage for him. And your Lord is Powerful.
25:55
But they serve [a god] rather than God which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is an assistant [to Satan] against his Lord.
25:56
And We have not sent you, except as a bringer of good news and a warner.
25:57
Say, "I do not ask you for any payment for it - *Shepherd of Hermas 43:12 only that whoever wills might take a way to his Lord."
25:58
And trust in the Ever-Living who does not die, *Book of Enoch 5:1, *Deuteronomy 32:40, *Tobit 13:1, *Daniel 4:34, *Sirach 18:1, *1 Timothy 1:17, *1 Timothy 6:16, *Revelation 10:6 and exalt [God] with His praise. And He is sufficient to be Aware of the sins of His servants -
25:59
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days *Genesis 1:31 - 2:1 and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Gracious, so ask Him [as He is] Aware.
25:60
And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Gracious," they say, "And what is the Most Gracious? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.
25:61
He is blessed who has placed strongholds in the heaven and placed a [burning] lamp therein and a luminous moon.
25:62
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember *Genesis 1:5 or desires to be grateful.
25:63
And the servants of the Most Gracious are those who walk upon the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say "Peace,"
25:64
And those who spend [part of] the night prostrating and standing [in prayer] to their Lord
25:65
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert the punishment of Gehenna from us. Indeed, its punishment is adhering;
25:66
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."
25:67
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do not do so excessively or sparingly but are [justly] moderate between that.
25:68
And those who do not invoke another god with God or kill the soul which God has forbidden [to be killed], except by truth, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.
25:69
The punishment will be multiplied for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide humiliated therein -
25:70
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them, God will replace their evil with good. And God is Forgiving and Merciful.
25:71
And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to God with [accepted] repentance.
25:72
And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, *Exodus 20:16, *Deuteronomy 5:20 and when they pass near idle talk, they pass by with dignity.
25:73
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.
25:74
And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us comfort to our eyes from among our spouses and offspring, and make us a leader for those who fear [God]."
25:75
Those will be awarded the lofty mansion *John 14:2 for what they patiently endured, and they will be received with greetings and peace therein,
25:76
Abiding eternally therein. The settlement is good, and residence.
