67:2
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving -
67:3
[And] who created seven heavens, one above another. You do not see any inconsistency in the creation of the Most Gracious. So return [your] vision [to the heaven]; do you see any breaks?
67:4
Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.
67:5
And We have certainly beautified the [lowest] heaven of this world with lamps and have made them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared the punishment of the Blaze for them.
67:6
And there is the punishment of Gehenna for those who disbelieved in their Lord, and it is wretched as a destination.
67:7
When they are thrown into it, they hear a [dreadful] inhaling from it while it boils up.
67:8
It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did a warner not come to you?"
67:9
They will say, "Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'God has not sent down anything. You are in nothing but great error.'"
67:10
And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."
67:11
And they will confess to their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze.
67:12
Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.
67:13
And conceal your speech or proclaim it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the hearts.
67:14
Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Aware?
67:15
It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and the Resurrection is to Him.
67:16
Do you feel secure that He who [is] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?
67:17
Or do you feel secure that He who [is] in the heaven would not send a storm of stones against you? Then you would know how [severe] My warning was.
67:18
And those before them had already denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
67:19
Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? No one holds them [aloft] except the Most Gracious. Indeed He is Seeing of all things.
67:20
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Gracious? The disbelievers are in nothing but delusion.
67:21
Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.
67:22
Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erectly on a straight path?
67:23
Say, "It is He who has produced you and made hearing for you and vision *Proverbs 20:12 and hearts; [but] you are grateful for little."
67:24
Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, *Genesis 1:28 and you will be gathered to Him."
67:25
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
67:26
Say, "The knowledge is only with God, and I am only a clear warner."
67:27
But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that which you used to call for."
67:28
Say, "Do you see that God could destroy me and those with me or have mercy upon us? Then who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"
67:29
Say, "He is the Most Gracious; we have believed in Him, and we trust in Him. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error."
