57:2
The kingdom of the heavens and earth is His. He gives life and causes death, *Deuteronomy 32:39, *1 Samuel 2:6, *Wisdom of Solomon 16:13, *4 Maccabees 18:19 and He is Powerful over all things.
57:3
He is the First and the Last, *Isaiah 41:4, *Isaiah 44:6, *Isaiah 48:12, *Revelation 1:8, *Revelation 21:6 the Outer and the Inner, and He is Knowing of all things.
57:4
It is He who created the heavens and earth in six days *Genesis 1:31 - 2:1 and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth and what comes forth from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein; and He is with you wherever you are. And God is Seeing of what you do.
57:5
The kingdom of the heavens and earth is His. *Psalms 89:11, *Job 41:11 And [all] matters are returned to God.
57:6
He causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night, and He is Knowing of that within the hearts.
57:7
Believe in God and His messenger and spend out of that which He has made you successors. For those who have believed among you and spent, there will be a great reward.
57:8
And why do you not believe in God while the messenger invites you to believe in your Lord and He has certainly taken your covenant, if you should [truly] be believers?
57:9
It is He who sends down verses of clear evidence upon His servant [Muhammad] so that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And indeed, God is Kind and Merciful to you.
57:10
And why do you not spend in the cause of God while the inheritance of the heavens and the earth [belongs] to God? Those who spent before the conquest [of Mecca] and fought, [and those who did so after it] are not equal among you. Those are greater in degree than those who spent afterwards and fought. But God has promised the best to all. And God is Aware of what you do.
57:11
Who is it that would loan God a good loan so that He will multiply it for him and he will have a noble reward?
57:12
On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding before them and on their right, [it will be said], "Your good news Today is [of] Gardens in which rivers flow beneath them, wherein you will abide eternally." That is the great success.
57:13
On the [same] Day, the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us so that we may acquire some of your light." It will be said, "Return behind you and seek light." And a wall will be set forth between them with a door, mercy is in its interior, but punishment is on the outside of it. *Matthew 25:8 - 10
57:14
The hypocrites will call to the believers, "Were we not with you?" They will say, "Yes, but you tempted yourselves and awaited and doubted, and wishful thinking deluded you until the command of God came. And the Deceiver deceived you concerning God.
57:15
So Today, no ransom will be taken from you or from those who disbelieved. *Book of Enoch 52:7, *Book of Enoch 63:10, *Book of Jubilees 5:23, *Job 36:18 - 19, *Psalms 49:6 - 7, *Proverbs 11:4, *Zephaniah 1:18, *Ezekiel 7:19 Your refuge is the Fire. It is your guardian, and it is wretched as a destination."
57:16
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humble at the remembrance of God and what has come down of the truth? And do not let them be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.
57:17
Know that God gives life to the earth after its death. We have made the signs clear to you; perhaps you will use reason.
57:18
Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [those who] have loaned God a good loan - it will be multiplied for them, *Proverbs 19:17 and they will have a noble reward.
57:19
And those who have believed in God and His messengers - those are the truthful and the witnesses with their Lord. Their reward and their light [will be] for them. But those who have disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of Hellfire.
57:20
Know that the life of this world is amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose plant growth pleases the disbelievers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes debris. And there is severe punishment and forgiveness from God and approval in the Hereafter. And the worldly life is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion.
57:21
Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whose width is like the width of the heavens and earth, prepared for those who believed in God and His messengers. That is the bounty of God which He gives to whom He wills, and God is the possessor of great bounty.
57:22
No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a Book before We bring it into being - ~*Psalms 139:16 indeed that is easy for God -
57:23
In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And God does not love anyone self-deluded and boastful -
57:24
[Those] who are stingy and enjoin stinginess upon people. And whoever turns away - then indeed, God is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
57:25
We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down the Scripture and the balance with them so that the people may maintain justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that God may make those known who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, God is Powerful and Almighty.
57:26
And We have already sent Noah and Abraham and placed prophethood and the Scripture in their descendants; and among them is he who is guided, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.
57:27
Then We sent Our messengers, following their footsteps, and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. *Mark 1:1, *Mark 1:14, *Matthew 4:23, *Matthew 9:35, *Luke 4:18, *Luke 20:1 And We placed compassion and mercy and monasticism in the hearts of those who followed him, which they innovated; We did not write it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of God. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.
57:28
O you who have believed, fear God and believe in His messenger; He will [then] give you a double portion of His mercy and make a light for you by which you will walk and forgive you; and God is Forgiving and Merciful.
