For those who Break the Covenant of God, this is the Hellfire which you were Promised

And so when We Offered the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth, they Declined to Bear it, but Man Promised to Bear it

9:68, Qur'an
God has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers the fire of Hell, wherein they will abide eternally.  It is sufficient for them.  And God has cursed them, and for them is an enduring punishment.

33:72, Qur'an
[And so when] We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [promised to] bear it.  Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant -

13:25, Qur'an
[Because for] those who break the covenant of God after contracting it and sever that which God has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth - for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home.

39:20, Qur'an
But those who have feared their Lord - for them are chambers, above them chambers built high, beneath which rivers flow.  [This is] the promise of God.  God does not fail in [His] promise -

50:32 - 33, Qur'an
[It will be said], "This is what you were promised - for every returner [to God] and keeper [of His covenant] who feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance].

3:76 - 77, Qur'an
[So] yes, whoever fulfills his promise and fears God - then indeed, God loves those who fear Him.  [But] indeed, those who exchange the covenant of God and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and God will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.

35:37, Qur'an
And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!"  But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you?  So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.

32:13 - 14, Qur'an
And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together.  So taste [punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this, your Day; indeed, We have [accordingly] forgotten you.  And taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do."

Do Not Exchange the Covenant of God for a Small Price

Those are the Ones who have Bought the Life of This World in Exchange for the Hereafter

3:14, Qur'an
Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land.  That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but God has with Him the best return.

29:64, Qur'an
[So know that] this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement.  And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the life, if only they knew.

28:60, Qur'an
[So] whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment.  And what is with God is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason?

23:55 - 56, Qur'an
[Or] do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children is [because] We hasten for them good things?  Rather, they do not perceive.

17:18, Qur'an
[For] whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend.  Then We have made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and banished.

2:86, Qur'an
[For] those are the ones who have bought the life of this world [in exchange] for the Hereafter, so the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be aided.

Matthew 16:26, Gospel
[So] what is a man profited, if he will gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Luke 4:6 - 7, Gospel
[For] the devil said, "All this power will I give you, and their glory, for that is delivered to me [by God]; and to whomever I will I give it.  If you will therefore worship me, all will be yours."

11:15 - 16, Qur'an
[And so] whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments - We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived.  Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire.  And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.

79:37 - 39, Qur'an
[And thus,] as for he who transgressed and preferred the life of the world, then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.

17:19, Qur'an
But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer - it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by God].

42:20, Qur'an
[And so] whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter - We increase for him in his harvest.  [But] whoever desires the harvest of this world - We give him thereof, but there is not for him in the Hereafter any share.

16:95 - 96, Qur'an
[So] do not exchange the covenant of God for a small price.  Indeed, what is with God is best for you, if only you could know.  Whatever you have will end, but what God has is lasting.  And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do.

He Created Life to Test you as to which of you is Best in Deed

He has Certainly Succeeded who Purifies himself, but God will Not Purify those who Exchange the Covenant of God

38:27, Qur'an
We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly.  That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.

45:22, Qur'an
[Rather,] God created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.

67:1 - 2, Qur'an
[Thus] blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things Competent - who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed -

21:35, Qur'an
[Whereby] every soul will taste death.  And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.

2:155, Qur'an
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient -

[Wisdom of Solomon 3:4 - 5], Torah
For although they are punished in the sight of men, yet their hope is full of immortality.  And having been a little chastised, they will be greatly rewarded; for God tested them, and found them worthy for Himself.

[Shepherd of Hermas 24:4], Gospel
For as the gold is tested by the fire and is made useful, so you also [who dwell in it,] are being tested in yourselves.  You then who abides and passes through the fire, will be purified by it.  For as the old loses its dross.  So you also will cast away all sorrow and tribulation, and will be purified.

87:14, Qur'an
[And thus,] he has certainly succeeded who purifies himself -

39:73, Qur'an
[For] those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter].

3:77, Qur'an
[But] indeed, those who exchange the covenant of God and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and God will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.

We Tested them with Bad that Perhaps they would Return to Obedience to Us

For We will Surely Let them Taste the Nearer Punishment Short of Hell, that Perhaps they will Repent

16:112, Qur'an
God presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of God.  So God made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing -

30:41, Qur'an
[And so] corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of what they have done that perhaps they will return [to God].

[2 Ezra 16:20], Torah
But for all these things, they [would] not turn from their wickedness, nor always be mindful of the scourges.

6:44, Qur'an
So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair.

23:76 - 77, Qur'an
And [thus,] We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and they will continue thus] until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair.

6:43, Qur'an
Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves?  But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing.

32:20 - 21, Qur'an
[So] as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire.  Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny."  [And thus] We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment [of Hell,] that perhaps they will repent.

The Fire is the Greatest Afflictions as a Warning to Humanity

So Return in Repentance to your Lord and Submit to Him Before the Punishment Comes upon you

Luke 13:28, Gospel
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you will see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, [but] you [yourselves] thrust out.

James 5:1 - 3, Gospel
[So] go now, you rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that will come upon you.  Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.  Your gold and silver are cankered; and their rust will be a witness against you, and will eat your flesh as it were fire.  You have heaped treasure together for the Last Days.

Luke 16:23 - 24, Gospel
[So] in Hell [the rich man] lifts up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus [the beggar] in his bosom.  And he cries and says, "Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame."

7:50, Qur'an
And [thus] the companions of the Fire will call to the companions of Paradise, "Pour upon us some water or from whatever God has provided you."  They will say, "Indeed, God has forbidden them both to the disbelievers."

44:47 - 48, Qur'an
[It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire, then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water."

44:49 - 50, Qur'an
[It will be said], "Taste!  Indeed, you are the honored, the noble!  Indeed, this is what you used to dispute."

22:21 - 22, Qur'an
And for [striking] them are maces of iron.  Every time they want to get out of Hellfire from anguish, they will be returned to it, and [it will be said], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire!"

Malachi 4:1, Torah
[So] behold, the Day comes that will burn as an oven; and all the proud, and all who do wickedly, will be stubble, and the Day that comes will burn them up, the Lord of hosts says, that it will leave them neither root or branch -

Matthew 13:42, Gospel
[For the angels] will cast them into a furnace of Fire, there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

25:13 - 14, Qur'an
And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction.  [They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction."

39:16, Qur'an
[For] they will have canopies of fire above them and below them, canopies.  By that God threatens His servants.  O My servants, then fear Me -

74:35 - 38, Qur'an
[For] indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] as a warning to humanity - to whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.  Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained [pledged].

39:54 - 56, Qur'an
[So] return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped.  And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive, lest a soul should say, "Oh [how great is] my regret over what I neglected in regard to God and that I was among the mockers."

Did there Not Come to you Messengers Warning you of this Day of yours?

Only he who Fears God will be Reminded

6:130, Qur'an
O company of jinn and mankind, did there not come to you messengers from among you, relating to you My verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?  They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves"; and the worldly life had deluded them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

89:23, Qur'an
And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?

39:71, Qur'an
[For] those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates are opened and its keepers will say, "Did there not come to you messengers from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?"  They will say, "Yes," but the word of punishment has come into effect upon the disbelievers.

44:13, Qur'an
[They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers."  [But] how will there be for them a reminder [at that time]?  And there had come to them a clear messenger -

14:4, Qur'an
[For] We did not send any messenger except speaking in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and God sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills.  And He is the Almighty, the Most Wise.

38:29, Qur'an
[Thus this is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.

87:9 - 10, Qur'an
So remind, if the reminder should benefit; he who fears [God] will be reminded.

7:63, Qur'an
Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you, and that you may fear God so you might receive mercy?

13:19 - 20, Qur'an
Then is he who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like one who is blind?  They will only be reminded who are people of understanding - those who fulfill the covenant of God and do not break the contract -

20:123 - 124, Qur'an
[When God] said, "Descend from Paradise - all being enemies to one another.  And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor suffer [in the Hereafter].  And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."

20:125, Qur'an
He will say, "My Lord, why have You raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?"

20:126, Qur'an
[God] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."

Be Not Like those who Forgot God

We will Forget them as they Forgot the Meeting of this Day of theirs

58:18 - 19, Qur'an
On the Day God will resurrect them all, and they will swear to Him as they swear to you and think that they are [standing] on something.  Unquestionably, it is they who are the liars.  Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of God.  Those are the party of Satan.  Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the losers.

45:34, Qur'an
And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.

59:19, Qur'an
[So] be not like those who forgot God, so He made them forget themselves.  Those are the defiantly disobedient -

7:51, Qur'an
[The ones] who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded.  So Today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.

Psalms 78:10 - 11, Torah
[For] they did not keep the covenant of God, and refused to walk in His law; and forgot His works, and His wonders that He had shown them.

Psalms 9:17, Torah
[Thus] the wicked will be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God.

47:18, Qur'an
Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them unexpectedly?  But already there have come [some of] its indications.  Then what good to them, when it has come, will be their remembrance?

[Sirach 28:7], Torah
[So] remember the commandments, and bear no malice to your neighbor; [remember] the covenant of the Highest, and wink at ignorance.

74:49, Qur'an
Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away?

Our Lord, Return us, we are Now Certain

But Even if they were Returned, they would Return to that which was Forbidden

32:12, Qur'an
If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness.  Indeed, we are [now] certain."

[Book of Enoch 63:5], Torah
And they will say, "Would that we might be given a respite, so that we might praise and thank and bless Him, and make our confession in front of His glory."

23:99 - 100, Qur'an
[For such is the state of the disbelievers], until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back that I might do righteousness in that which I left behind."  No!  It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.

14:44, Qur'an
[So] warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers."  [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no end?"

23:106 - 107, Qur'an
They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray.  Our Lord, remove us from it, and if we were to return [to evil], we would indeed be wrongdoers."

6:28, Qur'an
But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them.  And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars -

33:72 - 73, Qur'an
[For] indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [promised to] bear it.  Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.  [It was] so that God may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the men and women who associate others with Him and that God may accept repentance from the believing men and believing women.  And ever is God Forgiving and Merciful.

16:91, Qur'an
[So] fulfill the covenant of God when you have taken it, and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made God, over you, a Witness.  Indeed, God knows what you do.

57:8, Qur'an
[So] why do you not believe in God while the messenger invites you to believe in your Lord and He has taken your covenant, if you should [truly] be believers?
