Recite [O Muhammad], "In the name of your Lord."

For indeed, We have sent a messenger to you as a witness upon you [Muhammad] just as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh, but Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure. So indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take a way to his Lord.

[So] O [Muhammad], you who covers himself with a garment, arise and warn.

For this prophet [Muhammad] is a warner like the former warners. The approaching destruction has approached.

The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud and 'Aad and Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot and the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'.  All denied the messengers, so My threat came true.

Then are your disbelievers better than those former ones, or do you have immunity in the Scriptures? Their assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs in retreat. And indeed, the criminals are in error and madness.

For they say, "Our Lord, hasten our share of the punishment for us before the Day of Account." So be patient over what they say.

Because there is a specified term for every nation.  So when their time has come, they will not postpone it an hour, nor will they advance it.  Then do they not give thought?  Muhammad is nothing but a clear warner.  Then do they not think that perhaps their appointed time has come near?

But indeed, no messenger came to them except that they used to ridicule him. And We did not give [Muhammad] knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is nothing but a message and a clear Qur'an to warn whoever is alive and so that the word may come true against the disbelievers.

But those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not sent down to him all at once?" Thus it is so that We may strengthen your heart thereby.  And We have spaced it distinctly.

And so this is a Qur'an which We have separated by intervals so that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period.  And We have sent it down in stages.

And indeed, they were about to scare you from the land to evict you therefrom. And then when they do, they will not remain there after you, except for a little.

So this is a Book which We have sent down so that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah] and those around it.

And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, that indeed, they would be those given victory and that indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome.  So, turn away from them for a time.  And see what will befall them, for soon they are going to see.  Then are they impatient for Our punishment?  But when it descends in their territory, then the dawn of those who were warned will [indeed] be evil.

And thus We have revealed an Arabic Qur'an to you so that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah] and those around it.

For indeed, there is a portion of punishment for those who have wronged like the portion of their predecessors, so do not let them impatiently urge Me.

For indeed, the command of God is coming, so do not seek to hasten it. For He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not postpone it an hour, nor will they advance it.

So they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" So say, "The time of their account has approached for the people."

And say, "On the Day of Conquest, the belief of those who had disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved." And so they say, "When will this conquest be, if you are truthful?"

So say, "The term decreed by God is coming."

For they will not cease to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able. So if they fight you, then kill them. That is the recompense of the disbelievers.

So fight those in the way of God who fight you but do not transgress - such is the recompense of the disbelievers. This was the first command to fight after 86 surahs

So fight them until there is no oppression and until the religion, all of it, is for God - if you have believed in God and in that which We sent down to Our servant on the day of criterion - the day when the two armies met. For theirs is like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied the signs of their Lord, so We destroyed them for their sins, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh. And all of them were wrongdoers. For those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you. But they plan, and God plans. And God is the best of planners.

He caused you to inherit their land and their homes and their properties and a land which you have not trodden.

And how many cities were stronger than your city of Makkah which drove you out?  We destroyed them; and there was no helper for them.

You will obtain another favor that you love - help from God and an imminent conquest.

We have given you a clear conquest, and He promises other victories that you were so far unable to realize which God has already encompassed.  And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within Makkah after He caused you to overcome them.

This day, those who disbelieve have despaired of defeating your religion; so do not fear them, but fear Me. This day, I have perfected your religion for you and have approved submission to God for you as religion.

But whenever a surah is sent down, there are those among the hypocrites who say, "Which of you has this increased faith?"  As for those who believed, it has increased them in faith.  But as for those who had disease in their hearts, it has only increased them in evil in addition to their evil.  Do they not see that they are tried once or twice every year but then they do not repent nor do they remember?  And whenever a surah is sent down, they turn away.  God has turned their hearts away because they are a people who do not understand.  For a messenger has certainly come to you from among yourselves.

When the help of God has come and the conquest, and you see the people entering into the religion of God in multitudes, then exalt God.
