God Sent Down the Torah in which was Guidance and Light, and We have Revealed to Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Aaron, Solomon, and David

So Say, "We have Believed in God and what has been Sent Down to Abraham and what was Given to Moses and what was Given to the Prophets from their Lord"

5:44, Qur'an
Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light.  The prophets who submitted [to God] judged by [the Torah] for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that which they were entrusted of the Scripture of God, and they were witnesses thereto.   So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price.  And whoever does not judge by what God has sent down - then it is those who are the disbelievers -

4:163, Qur'an
[For] indeed, We have revealed to you [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him.  And We revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the [twelve] tribes [of Israel], Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and We gave the Scripture [Psalms] to David.

45:16, Qur'an
And We certainly gave the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds.

12:22, Qur'an
And when Joseph reached maturity, We gave him judgement and knowledge. And thus, We reward the doers of good.

And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot - and We preferred all [of them] over the worlds.  And [some] among their fathers and their descendants and their brothers - and We chose them and We guided them to a straight path.

And remember in the Scripture, Enoch.  Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.  And We raised him to a high place.

And [We sent] messengers about whom We have certainly related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you.  And God spoke to Moses with [direct] speech.

And We wrote [something] of all things for him on the tablets - instruction and explanation for all things, [saying], "Take them with determination and order your people to take the best of it. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient."

And [remember] when We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion so that perhaps you would be guided.

[So] say, "We have believed in God and what has been sent down to us and what has been sent down to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the [twelve] tribes [of Israel] and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord.  We make no division between any of them, and we are in submission to Him."

O People of the Scripture, you are Standing on Nothing Until you Uphold what has been Sent Down to you - so Let them Judge by what God has Sent Down Therein in the Torah and the Gospel

And Thus, Among the People of the Scripture are those who Believe in God and what was Sent Down to Muhammad, and what was Sent Down to them

5:65 - 66, Qur'an
If only the People of the Scripture had believed and feared [God], We would have surely removed their misdeeds from them and admitted them to Gardens of Pleasure. And if only they upheld [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been sent down to them from their Lord, they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their feet.  There is a moderate community among them, but what many of them do is evil -

62:5, Qur'an
[For] the example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not uphold it is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books].  It is a wretched example concerning the people who deny the verses of God. And God does not guide the wrongdoing people -

5:42 - 44, Qur'an
[For they are avid] listeners to falsehood, devourers of [what is] unlawful. So if they come to you, judge between them or turn away from them. And if you turn away from them - they will never harm you at all. And if you judge, judge between them with justice. Indeed, God loves those who act justly. But how is it that they come to you for judgement while they have the Torah, in which is the judgement of God? Then they turn away, [even] after that; but those are not [in fact] believers. Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to God] judged by [the Torah] for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that which they were entrusted of the Scripture of God, and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price. And whoever does not judge by what God has sent down [therein] - then it is those who are the disbelievers.

5:45, Qur'an
And We prescribed for them therein - a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth [as legal retribution], and legal retribution for wounds.  But whoever gives [up his right as] charity, it is an expiation for him.  And whoever does not judge by what God has sent down - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

5:68, Qur'an
[So] say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been sent down to you from your Lord."  And that which has been sent down to you [O Muhammad] from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief.  So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

3:113 - 115, Qur'an
[But] they are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of God during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer].  They believe in God and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.  And whatever good they do - they will never be denied it.  And God is Knowing of those who fear [Him].

7:170, Qur'an
[And] those who hold fast to the Scripture and establish prayer - indeed, We will not allow the reward of the reformers to be lost.

3:199, Qur'an
And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in God and what was sent down to you [O Muhammad] and what was sent down to them, [being] humble to God.  They do not exchange the verses of God for a small price.  Those will have their reward with their Lord.  Indeed, God is swift in account.

The People of the Scripture Conceal Much of what God had Sent Down of the Scripture

But God Said, "Whoever Takes Away from the Words of the Book, God will Take Away his Part out of the Book of Life"

So Our Messenger has Come Making Clear Much of what you used to Conceal of the Scripture

O People of the Scripture, why do you mix the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know [it]?

…[For] you make [the Scripture] into pages, disclosing [some of] it and concealing much...

[For] the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, [are] they not written in the Book of Nathan the prophet, and in the Prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the Visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam, the son of Nebat?

And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, [are] they not written in the Book of the Acts of Solomon?

[No?  And yet] God took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it -

But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased -

[But] indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people in the Scripture - those are cursed by God and cursed by those who curse, except for those who repent and correct themselves and make clear [what they concealed]. Those - I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

5:15, Qur'an
[So] O People of the Scripture, Our messenger has come to you making clear much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture, and he pardons much.  A light and a clear Book have come to you from God.

2:41 - 42, Qur'an
[So] believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and do not be the first to disbelieve in it.  And do not exchange My verses for a small price, and fear [only] Me.  And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].

God did Not Send Any Messenger Except that Satan Threw in his Own Desire, and they Say, "This is from God," but it is Not from God

So Woe to you who Alter the Words of Truth and Distort the Law, for they have Exchanged the Verses of God for a Small Price and Averted People from His Way

9:9, Qur'an
They have exchanged the verses of God for a small price and averted [people] from His way. Indeed, what they were doing was evil.

Jeremiah 23:31 - 32, Torah
[And thus God said,] "Behold, I [am] against the 'prophets,' who use their tongues and say, 'He says.'  Behold, I [am] against those who prophesy false dreams, and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I did not send them, nor command them, therefore they will not profit this people at all," the Lord says.

Ezekiel 13:6 - 7, Torah
[Rather,] they have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, "The Lord says," and the Lord has not sent them, and they have made [others] hope that they would confirm the word.  Have you not seen a vain vision, and have you not spoken a lying divination, whereas you say, "The Lord says [it];" although I have not spoken?

3:78, Qur'an
[So] indeed, there is a group among them who alters the Scripture with their tongues so that you may think it is from the Scripture, but it is not from the Scripture. And they say, "This is from God," but it is not from God. And they speak a lie about God while they know -

Therefore the Lord God thus says; "Because you have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I [am] against you," the Lord God says.

[Book of Enoch 98:15], Torah
[So] woe to you who write lying words, and the words of the impious, for they write their lies so that men may hear and continue their folly.  And they will not have peace but will die a sudden death.

[Book of Enoch 99:2], Torah
[And] woe to you who alter the words of truth, and they distort the eternal law and count themselves as being without sin; they will be trampled underfoot on the ground.

2:79, Qur'an
So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from God," in order to exchange it for a small price.  Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn -

3:69, Qur'an
[For] a faction of the People of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead [anyone] except themselves, and they do not perceive.

3:70 - 71, Qur'an
[So] O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of God while you witness [to their truth]?  [And] O People of the Scripture, why do you mix the truth with falsehood?

22:52 - 54, Qur'an
[For] We did not send any messenger or prophet before you except that when Satan desired, he threw in his [own] desire [into His verses]. But God abrogates that [falsehood] which Satan throws in [His verses]; then God makes His verses precise. And God is Knowing and Wise. [That is] so He may make what [falsehood] Satan throws in a trial for those who have disease in their hearts and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension. And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts become humble to it. And indeed God is the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path.

God Sent Down the Qur'an in Truth as a Criterion Over the Scripture, so Judge Between them by what God has Sent Down

For God Eliminates what He Wills or He Confirms, so Race to All that is Good - for God has Spoken Only One Message to All Men

4:105, Qur'an
Indeed, We have sent the Book down to you in truth so that you may judge between the people by that which God has shown you. And do not be an advocate for the deceitful -

16:101, Qur'an
[For] when We substitute a verse [in the Qur'an] in place of a verse [in the previous Scriptures] - and God is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You are only an inventor [of lies]."  But most of them do not know -

13:39, Qur'an
[For] God eliminates what [verses] He wills [in the previous Scriptures], or He confirms, and the Mother of the Scripture is with Him.

5:49, Qur'an
[So] judge between them by what God has sent down and do not follow their inclinations and beware of them, unless they should tempt you away from some of what God has sent down to you. And if they turn away - then know that God only intends to afflict them with some of their [own] sins. And indeed, many among the people are defiantly disobedient -

[For] when they are called to [the Word of] God and His messenger to judge between them, at once a group of them turns aside [in refusal].

[But those] who listen to the Word [of God] and follow the best of it - those are the ones God has guided, and those are people of understanding -

[Thus,] He is blessed who sent the Criterion down upon His servant so that he may be a warner to the worlds.

Everything that conforms to the Book of Moses, receive that as true; seeing that God is one, the truth is one; from where it follows that the doctrine is one and the meaning of the doctrine is one; and therefore the faith is one. Truly I say to you that if the truth had not been erased from the Book of Moses, God would not have given the second to our father David. And if the Book of David had not been contaminated, God would not have committed the Gospel to me; seeing that the Lord our God is unchangeable, and has spoken only one message to all men. Therefore, when the messenger of God will come, he will come to cleanse away all wherewith the ungodly have contaminated my Book."

5:19, Qur'an
[So] O People of the Scripture, Our messenger has come to you to make [the religion] clear to you after a period [of suspension] of messengers, unless you should say, "No bringer of good news or a warner came to us." But a bringer of good news and a warner has come to you. And God is Powerful over all things -

5:48, Qur'an
[For] We have sent the [Qur'an] down to you in truth, confirming that which is between one's hands of the Scripture and as a Criterion over it. So judge between them by what God has sent down and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We made a law and a method. Had God willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. Your return is to God all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning those [matters] in which you used to differ.

39:55, Qur'an
[So] follow the best of what was sent down to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive.
